I have been in the Care profession for over 35 years, and in this time have held a number of positions, including Home Care Assistant, Night Carer, Team Leader and Residential Care Home Deputy and Manager.
I originally joined Prestige Nursing & Care in 2017 as a night carer, later progressing to Field Care Supervisor in 2018 and then Support Manager in 2020. In the time that I have been here I have developed my knowledge and have now been managing both the Halesworth and Ipswich branches since June 2021.
During my career in Care, I have gained several qualifications, including a Registered Managers Award, Level 4 in the Management of Care Services and an NVQ Assessor.
Sophie is a registered adult nurse with over 30 years’ experience working within hospitals and in the community. Since qualifying at Leeds general Infirmary Sophie spent many years working in intensive care, she has also been a Nurse case manager for clients receiving complex care at home, a registered manager for adults receiving homecare, and latterly back in the NHS as a Matron in a large acute hospital trust.
Sophie’s role at Prestige as part of the Clinical Team, means she is responsible for overseeing safe compassionate care for adult clients, including those with complex needs. She says ‘I have strong leadership and management experience of not only in homecare but also with those who have complex clinical needs’. Sophie’s role also includes a focus on safeguarding.
Sophie wanted to work with Prestige as this offered her the opportunity to work in an environment that puts the client at the heart of everything they do and live the values of client centred care.
She says ‘as a registered professional I believe that working with Prestige Nursing and care offers the highest level of role satisfaction knowing that the client is front and centre of our services’.
Sue has worked at Prestige Nursing & Care since 2018. She is a registered mental health nurse and has over 20 years’ experience supporting individuals and families affected by dementia.
During this time, Sue has held positions in community mental health services, healthcare research and higher education. Her doctorate focused on resilience and well-being in friends and family members who provide care and support to a person living with dementia.
Sue’s role at Prestige focuses on ensuring our services enable people with dementia to remain in their own homes, receiving person-centred care that builds their confidence, skills and promotes well-being. Sue set up a carers support group for families living with a rare dementia in 2017. This regional group is affiliated to Rare Dementia Support (RDS), a world-leading UK-based service provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) funded by The National Brain Appeal.
She was a committee member on the recently published NICE Guideline for Supporting adult carers [NG150] and is currently working with the NICE Quality Standards Advisory Committee for this guideline. Sue has worked as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission since 2013, supporting the Commission’s regulatory activity in adult social care services for people with living dementia.
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1994 at East Surrey Hospital and as a Paediatric Nurse in 2000 at Kingston and St George’s University Hospitals. I have gained a wealth of experience in a variety of settings firstly in adult surgical nursing, then working in the outback of Australia providing paediatric nursing in the community, paediatric care in a hospice and on general paediatric wards. My areas of interest include oncology and high dependency. I have always enjoyed teaching and have been a mentor to many colleagues.
I joined Prestige in April 2018 where I have been given the opportunity to develop in my role. As the Paediatric Clinical Lead and Paediatric Safeguarding Lead for the company, I am particularly proud of the work we have done to further develop our paediatric training.
I have over 40 years nursing experience having qualified at the Westminster Hospital London.
I specialise in all aspects of nursing care and have experience in both hospital and home care environments, as well as in the community. I was rapidly promoted from Staff Nurse to Senior Sister and have been practicing as a Clinical Lead for the past 10 years.
I have strong leadership and management experience of complex clinical needs with a passion for personal-centred care. My motivation is always to promote and develop the highest quality care standards for those that I care for. During my time in nursing I have worked with many various health conditions and have a passion for dementia care. I am a qualified dementia trainer and have worked with clients with many complex health needs and pride myself on excellent communications skills with the families of those I care for.
Whilst working in London I have worked at various teaching hospitals including Guy’s, St Thomas’, and King’s College London. I have undergone extensive additional training that covers a myriad of adult nursing care including end-of-life care.

CARE MANAGEMENT IN IPSWICH AND SUFFOLK
Our responsive and reliable care at home service in Ipswich means we can put care and support in place quickly and in many cases within 24-hours. Depending on your needs a comprehensive assessment will be conducted by either a registered nurse or our local care expert. We can conduct the assessment at your home, in hospital or in any specialist care setting if you are awaiting discharge back to your own home, enabling a plan of care and support to be developed that meets all your needs.
Our approach to care planning, whether it is for an hourly home care service, respite care or a permanent live-in care arrangement ensures we capture all your preferences and wishes so you can live a contented life in the comfort of your own home. We take time to find the carer that would best meet your care and support needs, making sure they are closely aligned with how you wish to live your life. Once care is in place, our team in Ipswich made up of care and clinical experts provide you, your family and our carer with an abundance of on-going support, giving you peace of mind that you or your loved one is receiving the very best home care.
COST OF OUR CARE IN IPSWICH
The cost of our care is dependent on the level of care and support you require. If you are receiving our hourly care service, the overall cost will be determined by the number of visits and frequency of visits to you at home. Our experts will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your needs at your home, or in Ipswich Hospital if you are awaiting discharge to truly understand what you need and therefore how much care at home will cost.
We know that the cost of our care in Ipswich is very competitive when compared with other home care providers in the area. It is worth noting that when comparing the cost of home care with a care package in a care home, that the fee you pay for home care is actually for the care and support you receive. In a care home your weekly fee mainly covers your accommodation, food and social activities with the care package being only a small part of what you pay.
You may be entitled to either social care funding, healthcare funding or Government funding that could contribute to the cost of care at home. If you are faced with having to finance your own home care (known as self-funding care), there are initiatives available to you, including care fees annuities or equity release schemes that could provide the funds you need for your care and support.
