What is companion care?
Companion care provides practical and emotional support for people who may be feeling lonely, isolated or less confident living alone. It is designed to support wellbeing, independence and social connection while helping people continue enjoying everyday life at home.
Support may include:
- Friendly companionship and conversation
- Support attending appointments and social outings
- Help with shopping and errands
- Meal preparation and shared mealtimes
- Assistance with hobbies and activities
- Accompaniment on walks or visits with friends and family
- Light household tasks
- Emotional reassurance and wellbeing support

Our companion care services are tailored to individual routines, interests and preferences, helping people feel supported and valued every day.

Arranging companion care
We take time to understand the individual needs, routines and interests of every person we support. Our local care teams will work closely with individuals and families to create a personalised care plan that provides the right level of companionship and practical support.
Whether care is required following bereavement, during recovery from illness or simply to provide regular social interaction, we can arrange flexible support that fits around daily life.
Our responsive local teams can often arrange care quickly, providing reassurance for both individuals and their families.
Supporting wellbeing and independence
Having regular companionship can make a meaningful difference to emotional wellbeing and confidence. Many people feel happier and more relaxed knowing someone is there to provide company, encouragement and support.
Our carers build trusted relationships through compassionate and person centred care, encouraging independence while helping individuals remain active, engaged and connected to the things they enjoy.
As needs change over time, care can be adapted to continue providing the right level of support.

Collaborating and partnering to care for you
We work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and other support services to ensure a joined up approach to care and wellbeing. Family involvement is an important part of the support we provide and our care teams ensure relatives receive reassurance and communication whenever needed.
By working together, we can provide care that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life at home.
