Adult Care

For over 75 years, Prestige Nursing & Care has provided adult care services designed to support people in living safely and independently at home. Our care enables adults to receive the support they need in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes instead of having to endure the potential distress and disruption of a move to a residential care setting.

The care we provide aims to facilitate independence, social interaction and emotional and mental well-being, whilst supporting people to fulfil their potential and live a purposeful and meaningful life.

We work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, multidisciplinary teams, and commissioning groups, to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to the care we provide. We know through our experience this ensures goals are reached and outcomes are improved.

Our adult care is focused on improving health outcomes and overall well-being all in the place people love most, their own home.

What Is Adult Care?

Adult care is provided to anyone over the age of 18 that requires assistance with the daily tasks of living so that they can enjoy greater independence and an enhanced quality of life. Our care is provided on an hourly or visiting care basis, so the people we care for have the support they need when they need it.

Many of the adults we support are living with a physical or mental disability or have overlapping health concerns that impact various aspects of their lives. The goal of our adult care is to help adults live with choice and autonomy in the comfort of their own homes.

Our adult care services provide far more than just practical support. From our years of experience in caring for adults from all walks of life, we recognise that many people with ongoing care needs can also be living with challenges relating to their mental health and emotional well-being.

Our sensitive carers are trained to promote good mental health and take the time to build positive relationships with those they care for. Our carers are there to provide companionship, friendship and conversation so that our clients feel supported in every aspect of their lives.

The adult complex care we deliver is person-centred and designed to help people manage their symptoms so they can enjoy a higher quality of life.

Our nurse-led, complex care for adults is led and managed by a highly-experienced registered nurse. This registered nurse is responsible for overseeing all the clinical components of the care we provide to ensure the support being delivered is always of the highest quality.

We can provide nurse-led clinical interventions including respiratory and airway support, tracheostomy management, feeding support including PEG feeding and stoma and catheter care.

We know how important it is for people to have a carer that truly understands their needs. This includes not just practical care needs but your emotional, psychological and well-being needs as well. We take time to match you with a carer that is aligned with how you wish to live your life so that the care we provide is more fulfilling and meaningful.

We provide care and support in over 30 locations in the heart of communities across England and Scotland. The fully managed service we provide is highly responsive and our local care experts can put care packages in place quickly, sometimes within 24 hours.

Costs of Adult Care

The cost of our adult care service is always based on the levels of care and support you need, with the overall cost being determined by the number and frequency of visits to your home. We will conduct a comprehensive, no-obligation assessment of your needs to accurately assess how much home care will cost.

You may also be entitled to either healthcare funding, social care funding or Government funding to help cover some or all of the costs of your care.

If you will be self-funding home care, you still may be eligible for benefits that can be used to contribute to the cost of your care such as Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance.
