I joined the Prestige family as a branch recruiter in February 2019 having spent almost ten years in recruitment, in various settings such as the NHS and Offshore and completing my Recruitment in Safe Practice qualification.
This role involved sourcing the very best care assistants for both the Halesworth and Ipswich branches. Carers that have a passion for working in the community and for caring about our client’s, just like myself.
In the short space of time that I have been here I have learnt about the business and am now proud to develop and manage the Halesworth branch whilst offering a safe and consistent level of care for all our clients. I will be undertaking my L5 in management and organisation soon.
I have over 35 years of nursing experience gained in a variety of healthcare settings. My career began in the NHS where I worked within respiratory, ophthalmology, diabetic out-patients, ENT and acute stroke rehabilitation.
. In 2008 I began working within the newly created NHS Continuing Healthcare project, looking after clients with complex needs in their own homes and later a small diagnostic clinic assisting with CT/ MRI guided procedures.
I joined Prestige Nursing & Care in 2019 as a trainer in one of its branches. The role evolved quickly as I was given opportunities to develop and became Regional Trainer delivering mandatory and specialist training and later became the Lead Trainer. I then moved to become the Registered Nurse in Halesworth, before being promoted to Regional Clinical Lead.
As a Regional Clinical Lead with Prestige, I provide professional leadership and operational management to the registered nursing workforce, across the East Region. Working alongside our expert regional nursing team I support them to enable them to deliver high-quality care within a community setting.
Sue has worked at Prestige Nursing & Care since 2018. She is a registered mental health nurse and has over 20 years’ experience supporting individuals and families affected by dementia.
During this time, Sue has held positions in community mental health services, healthcare research and higher education. Her doctorate focused on resilience and well-being in friends and family members who provide care and support to a person living with dementia.
Sue’s role at Prestige focuses on ensuring our services enable people with dementia to remain in their own homes, receiving person-centred care that builds their confidence, skills and promotes well-being. Sue set up a carers support group for families living with a rare dementia in 2017. This regional group is affiliated to Rare Dementia Support (RDS), a world-leading UK-based service provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) funded by The National Brain Appeal.
She was a committee member on the recently published NICE Guideline for Supporting adult carers [NG150] and is currently working with the NICE Quality Standards Advisory Committee for this guideline. Sue has worked as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission since 2013, supporting the Commission’s regulatory activity in adult social care services for people with living dementia.
I am a registered learning disability nurse who secured a first-class honours degree.
I have six years' nursing experience working with both adults and paediatrics of all ages with a range of complex physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs, predominantly within a community setting in the private sector. I have worked at a brain injury unit, rehabilitating adults with acquired brain injuries, stroke and mental health conditions. I have a specialist interest in neurology, in particular epilepsy where I secured the post of an NHS epilepsy nurse specialist.
I joined Prestige in January 2020 as a Regional Nurse. I provide clinical expertise, training, and professional leadership to the East Region, to ensure the safe planning and delivery of high-quality care to both adults and paediatrics within their homes and community settings. I have been involved with enhancing paediatric services, documentation, and policies and assisted with e-Learning redrafting. My aim is to provide exceptional care and support to our carers, team members and most importantly to clients and their families.
I graduated from Birmingham City University in 2015 with a first-class honours’ degree as a RNLD Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities.
My passion for working within the learning disability field came from growing up in a family environment where my mother provided respite care to children with learning disabilities.
Upon graduating from university, I began working as a Registered Nurse at a residential school and children’s home caring for children with complex health needs who were unable to be cared for at home and otherwise would be cared for in hospital. Children’s healthcare needs I have supported include tracheostomy care, epilepsy management, postural care management, gastrostomy and gastro-jejunostomy care, peg feeding, regular suction (oral/nasal/tracheal/deep suction), physiotherapy routines and nasopharyngeal airway care. I also have experience delivering adult care to clients with mental health and challenging behaviour, acquired brain injury, chest physiotherapy and cough assist. My previous experience has given me the ability to work with a wide age range from children to elderly, with a broad range of clinical needs.
I joined Prestige in January 2020 as Regional Nurse for the East Region, where I have clinical responsibility for adult and paediatric complex healthcare needs. I also deliver team training and clinical competency assessments, completions of clinical care plans, risk assessments, auditing and liaising with professionals and families. I am also completing a BTECH certificate in Positive Behaviour Support with British Institute of Learning Difficulties (BILD) and my area of specialist interest is respiratory conditions.
I have been a paediatric nurse for over 16 years, initially working within a children’s teaching hospital rotating within the areas of burns and plastic surgery, orthopaedics and general medical/ neurology, nursing children from infancy up to 17 years old.
In 2005 I joined a team on a Lead Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Over the next 14 years, I worked as part of specialist team of health professionals, caring for premature infants from 23 weeks gestation and sick infants requiring many forms of intensive care and specialist treatments, surgical intervention or palliative care. I assisted with clinical research programmes, supported and delivered teaching to parents/guardians to provide complex care for their child such as tracheostomy care, enteral feeding, oxygen therapy and suction training in preparation for their discharge home. I became a student nurse mentor supervising, teaching and assessing clinical skills and competencies at the end of the training programme.
I joined Prestige in March 2020 as a Regional Nurse in the East Region leading complex care packages for children working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams to meet the needs and expectations of children and their families, all whilst maintaining the high standard of care required and ensuring best practice.
I have over 18 years of paediatric nursing experience gained within a variety of care and health settings, both acute and within the community.
My nursing career began as a rotational general paediatric nurse in a hospital, working with babies, children and families with respiratory, neuro- rehabilitation, orthopaedic, metabolic, gastrointestinal and haematology / oncology issues.
After gaining nine years nursing experience within general paediatrics, I spent the next seven years working as a haemoglobinopathy nurse specialist for children and families with genetic blood disorders in both the community and acute setting. This made me very much aware of the impact of living with a long-term medical diagnosis for both the child and their family.
Prior to joining Prestige, I spent two years working with children and their families with genetic metabolic conditions which is a life-limiting condition. In my role as Registered Nurse at Prestige my goal is to bring my wealth of paediatric nursing experience to help carers to provide the highest quality nurse-led care to the children we care for, whilst supporting their families.
I have over 40 years nursing experience having qualified at the Westminster Hospital London.
I specialise in all aspects of nursing care and have experience in both hospital and home care environments, as well as in the community. I was rapidly promoted from Staff Nurse to Senior Sister and have been practicing as a Clinical Lead for the past 10 years.
I have strong leadership and management experience of complex clinical needs with a passion for personal-centred care. My motivation is always to promote and develop the highest quality care standards for those that I care for. During my time in nursing I have worked with many various health conditions and have a passion for dementia care. I am a qualified dementia trainer and have worked with clients with many complex health needs and pride myself on excellent communications skills with the families of those I care for.
Whilst working in London I have worked at various teaching hospitals including Guy’s, St Thomas’, and King’s College London. I have undergone extensive additional training that covers a myriad of adult nursing care including end-of-life care.
I qualified as a nurse in 2007 and started my nursing career at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), working on the oncology and haematology ward.
I also worked in the gastroenterology outpatient department at the NNUH. I have worked in both acute and community settings. The latter part of my career was spent in the community, in the private sector, where I held roles in continuing healthcare, domiciliary care and nursing homes. I also worked for Norfolk County Council setting up and managing a COVID-19 Unit and then in the Norfolk First Response department.
I joined Prestige Nursing & Care in February 2021 as Regional Nurse for the East Region. As Regional Nurse I will be providing leadership, support, clinical training and competency assessments. By doing this I will be ensuring that our team is able to deliver high quality, best practice care to those in their own homes. I have a real passion for learning, teaching and developing myself and others to be able to provide a high standard of compassionate, considerate and personalised care.

CARE MANAGEMENT IN HALESWORTH ANDEAST SUFFOLK
Our responsive and reliable care at home service in Halesworth means we can put care and support in place quickly and in many cases within 24-hours. Depending on your needs a comprehensive assessment will be conducted by either a registered nurse or our local care expert. We can conduct the assessment at your home, in hospital or in any specialist care setting if you are awaiting discharge back to your own home, enabling a plan of care and support to be developed that meets all your needs.
Our approach to care planning, whether it is for an hourly home care service, respite care or a permanent live-in care arrangement ensures we capture all your preferences and wishes so you can live a contented life in the comfort of your own home. We take time to find the carer that would best meet your care and support needs, making sure they are closely aligned with how you wish to live your life. Once care is in place, our team in Halesworth made up of care and clinical experts provide you, your family and our carer with an abundance of on-going support, giving you peace of mind that you or your loved one is receiving the very best home care.
COST OF OUR CARE IN HALESWORTH
The cost of our care is dependent on the level of care and support you require. If you are receiving our hourly care service, the overall cost will be determined by the number of visits and frequency of visits to you at home. Our experts will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your needs at your home, or in James Paget Hospital if you are awaiting discharge to truly understand what you need and therefore how much care at home will cost.
We know that the cost of our care in Halesworth is very competitive when compared with other home care providers in the area. It is worth noting that when comparing the cost of home care with a care package in a care home, that the fee you pay for home care is actually for the care and support you receive. In a care home your weekly fee mainly covers your accommodation, food and social activities with the care package being only a small part of what you pay. You may be entitled to either social care funding, healthcare funding or Government funding that could contribute to the cost of care at home. If you are faced with having to finance your own home care (known as self-funding care), there are initiatives available to you, including care fees annuities or equity release schemes that could provide the funds you need for your care and support.
