New Carer contract goes live

Here at Prestige Nursing & Care we are delighted to announce the changes that we have recently made to the contracts and terms of engagement of our care workers.

A £500k investment has supported significant changes in our offering to our most valued asset, our people. Amongst the improvements, we have increased the minimum rate of pay to £9.50 per hour, in line with the real living wage. Those caring for our clients that have more complex care needs will have the opportunity to earn up to £16.73 per hour. We are also offering premium rates on bank holidays, mileage for ALL drivers, and paid training and e-learning once compliant….

This is a fantastic achievement and it is great to see the phenomenal work from both the professional carer and branch team in Bracknell recognised amongst so many other homecare providers.

The recognition is for being one of the 20 top rated Homecare providers in their region based on over 33,000 published reviews from service users/clients and their family/friends. Coming out of covid restrictions – tips for families affected by dementia

As the covid-19 infections rates decrease and national restrictions are gradually lifted we are thinking about how this may impact our families living with dementia.

Many of our clients have been shielding, so have only had limited contact with essential carers and people in their support bubble and although this social isolation has been very tough it has also kept us all safe. Changing routines and reconnecting with the wider community may make people feel anxious and unsettled.

This is very understandable – we have never lived through a pandemic before and do not know what to expect. Adapting to the changing restrictions and coming to terms with events can be very stressful. Many community services for people with dementia such as dementia cafes and support groups had to suspend their meetings and it will take time for them to reopen and to settle into new routines….
