Prestige Nursing & Care Bath and Bristol East is celebrating its first year in business, marking 12 months of growth, community partnerships and making a difference to people across the local area.
Managing Director Kishan Tamrakar completed on the Bath branch of Prestige Nursing & Care one year ago as of September, taking his career in a new direction after previously working in banking and finance.
While moving from finance into the care sector represented a significant change, Kishan says the past year has been one of the most rewarding learning experiences of his career.
Reflecting on the milestone, Kishan said: “Coming from a banking and finance background, stepping into home care was a huge shift, and it’s been one of the most rewarding learning curves of my career.
“Numbers and spreadsheets don’t prepare you for the feeling of genuinely changing someone’s day for the better, but that’s exactly what this year has taught me.”
Over the past 12 months, Kishan and his team have supported individuals and families across Bath and Bristol East, while developing strong relationships with local partners, including Local Authority and NHS teams.
These partnerships have played an important role in helping the branch connect people with the care and support they need, while ensuring that the team remains closely connected to the wider health and social care community.
For Kishan, one of the highlights of the first year has been seeing the team develop alongside the branch.
“I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people, supporting families through difficult times, and watching our team grow into something I’m genuinely proud of,” he said.
“Also, what makes this journey even more special is that it’s a true family business. My wife, Chandani, and I have built it together, and that means the world to us. Chandani has been a nurse for over 15 years, and her compassion and dedication to caring for others have shaped so much of what we do.
“This isn’t just a business for us. It’s something that is very close to our hearts. Every family we support, every member of our team, and every life we are privileged to be part of reminds us why we started. Knowing that we can help people live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes makes all the hard work worthwhile.” Kishan added.
The branch’s first year has also highlighted the importance of the people delivering care every day. From the office team coordinating care and supporting clients and families, to the care professionals working directly in the community, Kishan says the milestone belongs to the whole team.
“None of this happens without the people behind it,” he said. “A huge thank you to my amazing team, both in the office and out in the field delivering outstanding care to our clients every single day.”
As Prestige Nursing & Care Bath and Bristol East looks ahead to its second year, the focus remains on continuing to grow its team, strengthen its local partnerships and provide high-quality care to people across the community.
