About Prestige Nursing & Care Blackpool

Blackpool branch prides itself on the care they deliver in and around the community, with colleagues and clients having been with us for over 15 years! Whilst our branch is situated in Blackpool, much of our work is in and around our towns and villages within the local areas. We offer a variety of care services; however, we do pride ourselves on the excellent support and care we deliver.

What our clients are looking for

We have an exciting vacancy within the local Blackpool and surrounding area for a Community Care Assistant to join our team and develop their care skills, working alongside our Branch Nurses and Care Staff with opportunity to progress. We are currently looking for a care assistant to visit our service users and assist them with medication, meal support, personal care, and socialising. In addition, this individual would have the opportunity to develop skills in areas of low-level clinical skills with further scope to train within more complex care.

Experience working within care is an advantage, but not necessary for the right candidate. You would be supporting individuals to live independently within their own homes, on a part time basis, and would have consistent individuals with whom you would build a rapport with.

Do you need experience?

As much as this is preferred, we do offer an excellent care certificate training programme for anyone who is new to care.

How will you be helping?

  • Prompting and administering medication
  • Helping with the preparation of meals and drinks
  • Assisting with activities of daily living such domestic duties and personal care
  • Maintaining and updating reports such as care plans
  • Undertaking training for Complex Care Interventions – this could lead to further training to support individuals who require Suctioning, Ventilation and PEG

What we offer:

  • A variety of shifts to suit your lifestyle.
  • You will be paid the National Minimum Wage for all attended training sessions and shadow shifts.
  • Work with our own clients, no agency work.
  • Pension scheme
  • Blue light card
  • Free DBS check
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity and Adoption schemes
  • Continued professional development to support you & your career
  • Weekly Pay
  • Holiday Pay
  • Refer a friend with the Care Friends mobile app and earn extra money – T&C’s apply
  • Employee Assistance line – available 24/7 and fully confidential for our staff
  • Support from your local branch team and out of hours support.

We’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A driver’s licence is essential
  • Good professional and personal references

In line with CQC & Care Inspectorate regulations, we require and will undertake Enhanced DBS/PVG, Right to Work, Reference and Employment History checks in line with Government guidelines for this role and safer recruitment best practice.

You may be asked to provide your employment details through HMRC.

Whilst we endeavour to keep the recruitment process as short as possible, due to the nature of these important checks there may be extension to timelines.
