Andrew Needham

BUSINESS DIRECTOR

Andrew joined the Prestige Nursing & Care senior leadership team as the Head of Operations before moving up to the role of Business Director in January 2021.

Andrew has a BA Hons degree in Business Management after studying at Sheffield Hallam University. After graduation, Andrew worked in the retail sector for 15 years at Budgens Supermarkets and Boots, gaining experience in pharmacy, optometry and retail. in 2016, Andrew joined Somerset Care as the Assistant Director of Community Services and then later moved into the role of Executive Director of Operations overseeing the care home, home care and learning disability divisions.

Andrew has experience of leading large teams and budgets in different sectors. He has worked successfully in collaboration with the NHS and Local Authorities to develop new services and pathways to help people live well in the setting they desire to be in. He has also worked as a Director of a joint venture with a retirement housing provider to support residents access the care they required. Andrew is also the Treasurer at a local pre-school.

MIKE FRENCH

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Mike joined the Prestige Nursing & Care senior leadership team as Financial Controller in October 2020 leading a team of 19 finance professionals.

He had previously been with Sodexo for five years, transferring from Sodexo Justice Services where he was Head of Finance.

Mike has a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is ACA qualified. He gained the ACA qualification while training in audit with Grant Thornton UK LLP and has over 10 years commercial finance experience across Healthcare, Retail, Education and Facilities Management.

Mike has managed and developed teams of qualified and non-qualified finance professionals throughout his career, supporting them with personal and career development. In addition to successfully managing budgets in excess of £70m he has extensive experience of partnering with operations to support business growth; most notably supporting contract negotiations with the Ministry of Justice, reviewing the financial viability of bids, and preparing staffing models.

Mike is a volunteer mentor and has undertaken professional coaching and mentoring training. He has a keen interest in diversity and inclusion and has supported various diversity and inclusion projects and networks throughout his career.

JUDITH ADAMS

RGN, RSCN, MSc, BSc, PG dip – HEAD OF CLINICAL SERVICES

Judith has been a registered nurse since 1988 and a registered children’s nurse since 1991.

She specialised in paediatric oncology and spent many years working as a Staff Nurse then Sister in acute NHS Trusts prior to holding a number of senior nurse leadership roles, both in the NHS and private sector, including Head of Nursing for International and Private Patients, at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust. In addition, she has held a National Quality Lead position with Nuffield Health and has been the Lead Nurse for Paediatric Cancer services at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, Australia.

In addition to her nursing qualifications, Judith holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Cancer Nursing, a Masters’ degree (MSc) in Leadership and Organisation in Health Care and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.

Judith sits on Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Professional Issue, Children and Young People steering group, which develops guidance that steers nursing practice across England.

Judith has led on a few comprehensive service reviews and quality improvement initiatives. She places high value on ensuring that the working environment is one which equips and cares well for staff who deliver front-line care; this ethos, she believes, significantly underpins compassionate high quality care provision and customer satisfaction.

DR SUE JONES

CONSULTANT ADMIRAL NURSE

Sue has worked at Prestige Nursing & Care since 2018. She is a registered mental health nurse and has over 20 years’ experience supporting individuals and families affected by dementia.

During this time, Sue has held positions in community mental health services, healthcare research and higher education. Her doctorate focused on resilience and well-being in friends and family members who provide care and support to a person living with dementia.

Sue’s role at Prestige focuses on ensuring our services enable people with dementia to remain in their own homes, receiving person-centred care that builds their confidence, skills and promotes well-being. Sue set up a carers support group for families living with a rare dementia in 2017. This regional group is affiliated to Rare Dementia Support (RDS), a world-leading UK-based service provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) funded by The National Brain Appeal.

She was a committee member on the recently published NICE Guideline for Supporting adult carers [NG150] and is currently working with the NICE Quality Standards Advisory Committee for this guideline. Sue has worked as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission since 2013, supporting the Commission’s regulatory activity in adult social care services for people with living dementia.

JANE HANCOCK

HEAD OF OPERATIONS (MATERNITY SECONDMENT)

Jane joined Prestige Nursing & Care in 2002 from another national care provider and has held a few roles within Prestige.

Leading the Operational function Jane is responsible for ensuring an effective operation in our locations to ensure a safe delivery of high-quality home care, which meets both rigorous internal standards and external regulation. 

After leaving the NHS Jane managed a number of branch operations for a national care provider and after joining the team at Prestige at a local level in the North West progressed to managing the branch network at director level responsible for service delivery and commercial targets until 2019. Jane is delighted to join the senior leadership team to cover maternity leave and to continue to manage the safe and effective delivery of care to our clients, whilst actively strengthening the approach to valuing, recognising and valuing our teams.

LAURA NEWTON

HEAD OF OPERATIONS (MATERNITY LEAVE)

Laura is responsible for ensuring delivery of a high-quality service, operational compliance and safety to meet regulatory requirements and the core values of the business.

With over 20 years’ experience working in the care sector, Laura has worked both in care homes and domiciliary care in various managerial positions.

Having started her career as a care assistant in a care home, Laura progressed her care in an operational capacity becoming an Operational Manager and National Head of Training for Four Seasons prior to joining Prestige Nursing & Care.  Prior to this Laura spent six years working for Bluebird home care.  Laura holds an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 in Leadership and Management, as well as a teacher training qualification.

Laura is passionate about driving service excellence that makes a positive difference to those we care from a care team that is committed and engaged in delivering the very highest standards of care.

LUCY OWEN

HEAD OF RECRUITMENT

Having graduated from Wolverhampton University with a degree in business studies, I have worked in recruitment for nearly 20 years. 

The majority of my experience has been in the healthcare sector and it is sector I still feel very passionately about. We are able to make a positive impact on people’s lives and I like to hear about the differences our care teams have made.

I started my career recruiting nurses to work in the USA, Middle East and Australia, before moving to London in 2012, where I secured a role recruiting live-in carers for The Good Care Group, a leading live-in care provider. I worked for The Good Care Group for over 8 years being promoted to Head of Recruitment. I was delighted to join the team at Prestige Nursing & Care in January 2021.

As part of the senior leadership team, I am responsible for managing the recruitment team. I thoroughly enjoy securing the right roles for people and watching them flourish. Our carers are vital to ensure our clients receive the best quality care and we are truly able to make a difference every day. LISA FISHER

MARKETING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Lisa joined the Prestige Nursing & Care senior leadership team as Marketing Operations Manager in October 2018. Lisa has a BA (Hons) in International Hospitality Management from Bournemouth University and has over a decade of experience working within the private and public sectors.

Prior to joining Prestige Lisa previously worked in various sales and marketing roles at both corporate and local level within the hospitality, leisure and events industries.

As Marketing Operations Manager Lisa manages all elements of marketing for Prestige including PR, communications, campaigns and the online presence for the external audiences as well as internal communications to the large team of carers and employees. Lisa has a keen interest in learning disabilities, challenging behaviour strategies and mental health.

ROB SIMMONS

ICT MANAGER

As IT Manager Rob oversees the IT team who look after all office equipment, systems and communications for Prestige Nursing & Care supporting all team members and carers to operate effectively.

Rob has a degree in Computer Science from Kingston University and joined Prestige Nursing & Care as IT Support Assistant in 2017. Rob’s earlier career includes IT support for the education, retail and hospitality sectors.
