FAYE JOHNSON
BRANCH MANAGER
I joined Prestige Nursing and Care in November 2022 as a Branch Manager for our Leeds and Wakefield Branches. Working with Prestige has given me the opportunity to use the skills I have developed over the years, and I am excited for what is to come.
I have worked in both the corporate world of care, support and Social Care and have also been on the front line which has given me well round rounded experience and skills that I have transferred to my role here at Prestige. My heart is with the clients I work with in the community where we strive to provide the highest quality service possible and enable them to live a valued and fulfilled life.
After completing my BA Theatre Studies studying dramatherapy in 1999 and having my eldest son, I began my career in care where I worked in a surgical ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary. Since then, I have taken on varied roles within the health and social care sector, including Senior Practitioner, Registered Manager (CQC) and Operations Manager. I am lucky to have worked with many client groups including substance misuse, mental health, homelessness, complex care and Children and Young people. I completed my Level 5 in Healthcare Management and Children and Young people’s services in 2016, and later became an assessor for this qualification. I am solution focused and believe anything is possible.
Carer training and support
All new starters, with or without care experience, complete our comprehensive programme. This training provides the knowledge our carers need to provide consistent, quality care to the vulnerable people we look after.
As a professional carer with Prestige Nursing & Care, there will be plenty of support for you to develop your skills and potential with further qualifications as you gain more experience with us. We know you have your own goals and ambitions and will work with you to help you achieve them.
As your career progresses, we can provide additional specialist support and complex care training to you to help you achieve your goal of becoming a specialist in a specific area of care or help you gain further qualifications.
Through our Awards programme, we recognise team members who provide compassionate care day in and day out, and we always aim to promote from within. Many of our carers go on to other roles within our company, such as care coordinators and area care managers.
Our induction training will cover subjects such as:
- Neurological conditions
- First aid
- Medication administration
- Urinalysis
- Common health conditions
- Personal care
- Skin care
- Nutrition and hydration
- End-of-life care
- People moving and handling
