We’re delighted to announce that at Prestige Nursing + Care we are holding a month of fundraising events in aid of Independent Age, where we hope to raise £20,000.
Throughout September, in the lead up to Older People’s Day, our staff at branches throughout the country will be taking part in events from sponsored walks and car boot sales to cake sales and open days. Their clients will also have the opportunity to get involved along with the local communities that they serve across the country. We’d love it if you could join us too.
It’s thrilling to see so many local Prestige Nursing + Care branches getting stuck into such a huge fundraising effort, and I can’t express my gratitude to those who are taking part. Our key fundraising drive are the Friendship Walks which are happening across the country – and we need your help to make these a success! If you’d like to take part in the walk all you need to do is pick the distance you’re comfortable walking, and ask all your friends and family to sponsor you £1 per mile.
Independent Age is a fantastic organisation who do invaluable work in helping older people across the UK. At a time when a rapidly ageing population places extra pressure on already stretched services – the NHS, local authorities and care providers – Independent Age offers local support to over-65s and their families via a network of volunteers. They are able to provide much needed advice and assistance, as well as an all-important befriending service at a time when loneliness among elderly people has hit a new high.
Social care has never been under so much pressure. We feel it is critically important to help charities that provide such support for older people who desperately need it – please help us achieve our aim and take part or sponsor us now.
