KIND WORDS FROM OUR CLIENT IN STAFFORDSHIRE

“We cannot recommend Prestige Nursing & Care enough. We never thought that anybody would be good enough to help with the care of our severely disabled son – how wrong we were! We have had the same carer with us for three years now. Every member of the team is caring, professional and always go that extra mile. A first-class service tailored perfectly for our son’s needs. We would highly recommend this company.”

I have worked for Prestige Nursing & Care in Staffordshire since 2016 when I started as a Care Co-ordinator, this was in fact my first job in the care sector. I am delighted to now be overseeing the Stafforsshire and Blackpool branches. Whilst in my role at Prestige I have taken opportunities to continually develop my skills and work in a range of roles including as a Recruitment Consultant and Assistant Manager to then becoming Branch Manager in 2020.  Within these roles, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience about the care sector and achieved a great understanding of Prestige’s values, policies and procedures.  I have embedded this into my working practices as well as mentoring, leading and managing team members.

I have qualifications in Leadership and Management, Business and Administration and I am due to complete QCF Level 5 in Social Care Management.  Working for Prestige Nursing & Care has given me opportunities to develop personally and professionally.  I am committed to developing care in Staffordshire so we can care and support those in our community who need good quality care.   I have also supported our service diversification to offer both adult and paediatric complex care.  This has also extended mine and the team’s knowledge, upskilling our team and further improving our retention of carers.

Working in the care sector gives me a great sense of achievement, knowing the work we do makes a huge impact on the quality of life of others.  I am passionate about supporting the great team in Staffordshire to ensure we succeed in delivering the best care possible to our clients.

I qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2011 at Royal Preston Hospital through the University of Central Lancashire. I have gained a wealth of experience in a variety of different settings, firstly in Intensive Care at Preston then through multiple different hospitals across the North West. I then moved into Renal care before training as a Disability Analyst assessing for Personal Independence Payments. Following this was the start of my community based nursing journey. I worked in a complex care nursing unit for 12 months then moved into Complex home care.

I began working for Prestige Nursing & Care in January 2022 and love what I do. I provided clinical expertise, training and professional leadership to the Blackpool team, to ensure the safe planning and delivery of high quality care to adults with complex needs within their homes and community settings. I take great pride in my work and my aim is to always ensure person centred, holistic care is delivered to our clients and families.

As of February 2023 I am now the Mobilisation Complex Nurse Specialist covering England and Scotland.

My areas of interest include Complex Care, in particular Tracheostomy management and care. I have always enjoyed teaching and mentoring new staff and students within my career. My aim at prestige is to ensure support and training is always available to our carers and team members.

KIND WORDS FROM ONE OF OUR CLIENTS IN STAFFORDSHIRE

“We initially employed Prestige Nursing & Care to care for my mum as she was living with dementia. We cannot recommend Prestige enough as all the carers genuinely care, and you can see that is more than just a job to them. They also took time to ensure not only that mum was OK, but the family were coping.”

CARE MANAGEMENT IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Our responsive and reliable care at home service in Staffordshire means we can put care and support in place quickly and in many cases within 24-hours.   Depending on your needs a comprehensive assessment will be conducted by either a registered nurse or our local care expert.  We can conduct the assessment at your home, in hospital or in any specialist care setting if you are awaiting discharge back to your own home, enabling a plan of care and support to be developed that meets all your needs.

Our approach to care planning, whether it is for an hourly home care service, respite care or a permanent live-in care arrangement ensures we capture all your preferences and wishes so you can live a contented life in the comfort of your own home.  We take time to find the carer that would best meet your care and support needs, making sure they are closely aligned with how you wish to live your life. Once care is in place, our team in Staffordshire made up of care and clinical experts provide you, your family and our carer with an abundance of on-going support, giving you peace of mind that you or your loved one is receiving the very best home care.

COST OF OUR CARE IN STAFFORDSHIRE

The cost of our care is dependent on the level of care and support you require.  If you are receiving our hourly care service, the overall cost will be determined by the number of visits and frequency of visits to you at home. Our experts will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your needs at your home, or in Royal Stoke Hospital if you are awaiting discharge to truly understand what you need and therefore how much care at home will cost.

We know that the cost of our care in Staffordshire is very competitive when compared with other home care providers in the area.  It is worth noting that when comparing the cost of home care with a care package in a care home, that the fee you pay for home care is actually for the care and support you receive.  In a care home your weekly fee mainly covers your accommodation, food and social activities with the care package being only a small part of what you pay.

You may be entitled to either social care funding, healthcare funding or Government funding that could contribute to the cost of care at home.  If you are faced with having to finance your own home care (known as self-funding care), there are initiatives available to you, including care fees annuities or equity release schemes that could provide the funds you need for your care and support.
