Support in North Manchester

Meet the North Manchester team

You will be supported round the clock by a management team from your local branch. Meet some of our team members providing quality care in North Manchester:

DANIEL BAMBER

REGISTERED BRANCH MANAGER/REGISTERED NURSE, NORTH MANCHESTER

I have worked at Prestige Nursing & Care since 2010 when I joined as a franchisee with my brother, Paul. Since joining we have developed the branch from the ground up and we now deliver over 4000 hours per week of care and employ over 180 people. In that time, I have achieved my Level-5 in the Leadership and Management of a Care service and I am on the board of Trustees as Treasurer for Headway Salford, a charity close to my heart because of the work we do in the field of Acquired Brain Injury.

I am passionate about delivering a service that makes other people’s lives easier, be that patients, commissioners, or families. I always strive to for us to be easy to deal with and provide a service that people want to keep on using or come back to for other clients they commission for time and time again. I firmly believe we are one of the most responsive and diverse care agencies you could work with and our customer experience is at the heart of everything we do.

In 2017, after a short stint working with NHS 111, I started work in the social care sector, firstly as a Regional Nurse, before moving into an Operational Manager position.

Carer training and support

All new starters, with or without care experience, complete our comprehensive programme. This training provides the knowledge our carers need to provide consistent, quality care to the vulnerable people we look after.

As a professional carer with Prestige, there will be plenty of support for you to develop your skills and potential with further qualifications as you gain more experience with us. We know you have your own goals and ambitions and will work with you to help you achieve them.

As your career progresses, we can provide additional specialist support and complex care training to you to help you achieve your goal of becoming a specialist in a specific area of care or help you gain further qualifications.

Through our Awards programme, we recognise team members who provide compassionate care day in and day out, and we always aim to promote from within. Many of our carers go on to other roles within our company, such as care coordinators and area care managers.

Our induction training will cover subjects such as:

  • Neurological conditions
  • First aid
  • Medication administration
  • Urinalysis
  • Common health conditions
  • Personal care
  • Skin care
  • Nutrition and hydration
  • End-of-life care
  • People moving and handling

You’ll also learn about being a team member at Prestige Nursing & Care:

  • Our values and culture
  • Your terms of employment, for example pay, holidays and expenses
  • IT and e-learning – understanding our systems
