Any Questions?

During the recruitment process with Prestige you may find that you have some questions, please see below for our Frequently Asked Questions. If we are unable to answer your question here then please feel free to call us on 0800 023 7222.

If I want to work for Prestige, what do I need to do?

Call our Recruitment Hotline (0800 023 7222), where one of our helpful advisors will be happy to give you a telephone Interview. If you are successful, we will arrange an Interview for you in your local branch of Prestige Nursing. A full application pack will be sent to you along with directions and a map of where you need to go. Alternatively, you can walk into your local branch and talk with a consultant face to face.

What happens if I cannot make my Interview date or time?

If you need to cancel your Interview or reschedule then you can do this through the Recruitment Hotline. We will make the necessary arrangements with the branch and send you confirmation of a rescheduled appointment.

How long will my Interview take?

Interviews can take up to 1.5 hours; this is because we want to use this time to find out as much as we can about your previous experiences and your preferences for the future. We will also go through any training you have and any training requirements for the future.

Do I need to bring anything to my interview?

Yes, we will need you to bring 2 forms of personal ID (Passport, UK driving licence, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate) along with a proof of address. We will need to see your NI card or a document containing this number. £36 for your CRB will also be required (see below for payment options). Failure to bring these items will result in a delay starting work.

Once I have attended my Interview how long will it be until I am offered shifts?

This is dependant on how long it takes to make you compliant by CSCI standards. Once all of your paperwork is complete we will start the process. Your paperwork is sent to Prestige Head Office where we must obtain a full CRB for you. We will then need to obtain 2 professional references and arrange any required training that is outstanding (the branch will arrange training at interview.) As soon as you are compliant to work, your local branch will contact you for your availability for work. We aim to complete this process in 4 weeks, although this is subject to CRB clearance and references.

I have never worked in care before, does this mean I can't work for Prestige?

Prestige do run an Introduction To Care course, this is available through most of our branches. We encourage a career in care and would love to hear what you have to offer. Introduction to care courses do have limited availability. To find out if your local branch has availability then please call our Recruitment Hotline on 0800 023 7222.

I am a qualified nurse but my RCN pin number has expired, can I still work for Prestige?

All of our Qualified Nurses must have a pin number that is in date, we would also require that this be renewed after expiry. If you choose not to re new then we suggest you speak to your branch manager about alternative work that we could offer you.

Do I have to pay a fee to join Prestige?

No, joining Prestige is FREE; we also supply all your training free of charge. You will need to pay for your Criminal Records check (CRB) as we would need this clearance before you can work.

How much is a CRB?

CRB's are £36.00, you can pay this by Credit or Debit card, unfortunately we cannot accept Visa Electrons. Postal orders are also accepted. Please note: We cannot accept payment by cheque.

At what stage am I expected to pay for the CRB?

We ask that you bring payment to your Interview so that if you are successful we can start processing your paperwork straight away.

I have convictions; will this stop me from working?

If your CRB check were likely to highlight any convictions or cautions, we would ask that you declare this information at Interview. We would then ask you to complete a short statement of the account so that we can use this on receipt of your CRB. A decision will then be made as to whether we can offer you work.

How much will I get paid?

You will find our rates of pay very competitive. Pay will depend on experience and type of work. You will be able to discuss pay rates during your branch interview.

Are your shifts flexible, I have children?

Prestige aim to be able to accommodate your employment needs. You will have to make us aware of your needs during your face-to-face interview.

Will I need to wear a uniform?

Prestige prides itself on its professionalism so you will be required to purchase a uniform to wear on all shifts attended. Your local branch can provide more details for you.

I am looking for a Permanent job; will Prestige be able to help me?

Absolutely, Prestige can help you with both temporary and permanent work. We pride ourselves on getting the right job for you. We can let you know about current opportunities as well as sourcing your desired job. You can get more information by calling our Recruitment Hotline or talking to a consultant in your local branch.

I don't have any UK work experience, what should I do?

We require our applicants to have at least 6 months work experience in the UK, this is because we like our members to be familiar with UK work ethic, and we also have to obtain professional references from your previous employers.
